Harnessing the power of diversity

This week, AstraZeneca posted highlights of the responsible business initiatives we undertook in 2010, including those to support a diverse and inclusive workplace.

We see diversity as something that goes beyond physical and cultural characteristics. Diversity in thoughts, ideas, experiences and working styles helps create an inclusive corporate culture that benefits everyone: our employees, our business, and the communities where our employees live and work.

AstraZeneca supports 14 Employee Network Groups, which involve more than 2,000 employees across our U.S. business. These groups have opened doors for working and adoptive parents, those advocating on behalf of people with special needs, military families, and employees involved in eldercare, to feel engaged at valued while at work and in the community.

Margie Rivera, Senior Manager Affirmative Action, Compliance and Diversity, shared her perspective on the benefits of Employee Network Groups.
